It's the whole recovery side of the machine — squeegee catches the water, vac motor pulls it in, and the floor gets to dry. When the vac motor's healthy, pickup is fast and quiet. When it's tired, you get water tracks behind the machine and a slow, whining shift.
This is the genuine Nilfisk Advance OEM GASKET VAC MOTOR, part number 56264103, brand new in the box. Vac motors wear from bearing life and brush life; once they're loud or weak, there's no fixing it — replace it and move on.
While you're in there, check the gaskets, hoses, and float. An air leak anywhere in the recovery path makes even a brand-new motor look like it's failing.
