Recovery vacuum motors are the loud, hard-working component that makes the floor actually dry behind the machine. All the mechanical parts of the squeegee mean nothing if the motor isn't creating the suction to pull water through them. When it's tired, everything upstream looks like it's failing.
This is the genuine Nilfisk Advance OEM VACUUM MOTOR, part number 9098111000, brand new in the box. Vac motors have a service life measured in operating hours, and by the time you can hear the difference, they've been below spec for a while.
Signs it's due: pickup that's worse than it used to be even with fresh blades, a whining or overheating motor, or suction that starts strong and drops off during the shift.
